Our company name is CompuMatter and we are located in Anacortes, WA. We have been working on a multi-store magento project.
We are piecing together a virtual development staff to help us with our ongoing needs. Here, we are looking for a Magento developer that deeply understands all aspects of the Magento codebase. Someone that has been involved with Magento for years, not months. Someone who understands how the <a href="http://tinyurl.com/qjdcke" target="_blank">Magento Diagram</a> comes together on both the back and front ends.
However, unlike the standard Magento setup, we have customized it to some degree so that we can have many individual stores and a single administration. Store owners may login to their administration however each store can only see information specific to their store and not that of any other store.
They may customize shipping, design, etc relative to their store only.
We have also created one special store we call the eMall (http://www.eAnacortes.com). The eMall can display all of the merchandise from all of the stores involved this project. One such store is http://www.fishtanksetc.com. However, a person cannot buy anything directly from the eMall. They can however click on an item which will take the viewer to the store that owns that product. It can then be purchased there. So you'll notice the same aquariums at fishtanksetc.com and also at the eMall.
The Administration area menus have been modified so that Store owners do not have access to the Mall administration features. We have stopped them from seeing other stores so this was important.
As a result of these modifications, it will be important that any developer that will work with us, does not overwrite any of our custom code with default Magento pages.
This is a fledgling project and we are just about to get it off the ground. However, our developer has left our employ and we need to secure a replacement. We have elected to go overseas to insure we aquire the expertise we need to finish the project as well or better than planned.
The code you will be working with has some custom coding that we have created and we do not wish to see our code in the open marketplace. Therefore we will require a signature agreeing that the code we have created is the sole property of CompuMatter and may not be offered by your company as part of any project. You may of course use any code you have created or that comes standard with Magento.
We have just lost our in-house developer that was helping us finish this project. So we now need someone to fill his shoes on both an hourly basis and project basis as needed.
If we use you, or your company, we will require you use our Redmine Project Management software (similar to Trac) to check out issues and post their evolution until completion. You will be provided a login username etc.
Because of the size of the Magento installation, and the amount of code involved, it would also be important that you use our SVN repository to download the project and update changes.
Stated timetables are important. If we come to an agreement that part of a project will be accomplished within a time frame, we are expecting this to be done unless the exceptions are obvious. Please be sure to accurately estimate your timelines to insure a continued happy relationship.
Please provide an idea of your hourly rate for ongoing needs. I recognize some will be project based. However, I need to know the hourly rate as well.
Very Sincerely,
Jay Lepore
