Project Description: Write a PHP script to run on my server to scrape data from a directory using the parameters given.
Script Language: PHP
Database: MySQL
Script Components:
User Interface – Allow user to enter search query. Display progress. Display results.
Data Scraper – Take user input, submit to directory. Retrieve results, check for existing entries in the database and then pull ONLY NEW data into MySQL database. Each entry will have 5 fields.
Work Required:
1) Accept user input
2) Submit to directory
3) Display results
4) Pull results
5) Check results against existing data in the database
6) Record only new data into the MySQL database
7) Display progress to user
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Also will need a feature to identify the users ip address so that the database can give search results in close proximity to the ip address.
