When I install the latest Ubuntu (9.04) on an Intel D945GCLF2 motherboard with keyboard, video and mouse directly attached, I am able to use my desired video resolution of 1024x768. I then move the computer to join my other computers and connect through an old Cybex SwitchView 4xKVM, and when I turn on the computer I get a max of 800x600.
The project I propose is to configure Ubuntu 9.04 on this Intel D945GCLF2 so that, connected through the KVM, I am able to select a video resolution of 1024x768.
I have three other computers connected through this KVM. Two are Windows XP machines, but the fourth has Ubuntu installed, and runs at 1024x768 no problem. The version of Ubuntu on this fourth machine is 9.04. The motherboard is also a D945GCLF2. I have tried cloning the config of this computer to the problem computer, but no joy.
